ChrispiNet

Welcome to ChrispiNet.

Allow me to briefly introduce myself: My name is Christian Scharr.
I am the founder of ChrispiNet and, at least in the initial stages, the only developer of the projects that ChrispiNet has made here.

I have studied Game Art & 3D Animation. Additionaly I also worked in form of an self-study on my programming skills, so my job at ChrispiNet falls mainly in the areas of art and code. In the case of Sound and Music, I rely on external help, which is why I decided to put all projects under an so-called “flexible proxy” called ChrispiNet.
Therefore, after the short story about ChrispiNet, Iam going to use the words ourselves or we instead of myself or me.

In summary, ChrispiNet stands for an networking development team under which our game projects are developed and also published.

Originally I had played with the simple idea of making this website as a classic portfolio website of my works. Unfortunately, I do not see myself as a friend of any asset or section based project presentations. I prefer to see the bigger whole project. It takes longer but you can just tell more about it. And because of the complexity of bigger projects – in contrast to the classic portfolio – you can not deliberately dodge your weaknesses.

I started with a simple space shooter mini-game on Flash (actionscript 2.0). This was followed by other smaller mini-games. They all had nothing special about them and they were also very simple. I created the first 3D game in my diploma thesis. Project Anderworld is a tech demo that we (12 artists and 5 programmers) have created as students in 5 months based on the Trinigy Engine. An old Youtube video can still be found at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WcFBFptPENA which was kindly re-uploaded by Margaretha Chaudhry.

For my research work, I developed my first fully fledged 3D game entirely by myself.
Project Nexus is a 3D hack & slay that takes place in an arena. You try to survive as many monster waves as possible, which also include difficult boss battles.

In addition, there is no respawn for the hero and the player loses his entire game progress with the death of his character. A special feature of this project is also that this game (due to my reseach work) has 2 different graphic styles available and the player can change them as desired. (realistic & cel-shading)

All these projects and  – unfortunately – also a canceled project with the working title “Kunoichi” (developed in a team and shut down at the end of the study due to time constraints) are forming the foundation on which ChrispiNet stands. We will always strive forward for improvements. With the goal that in the end we all together can say: That was fun.
